Twitterville Talk #99

Who ever said "Life is full of surprises" spoke a grand truth.  They seem to pop up when you least expect them.  Stopped with a train of cars yesterday, waiting for a couple of others to make a left-hand turn, I looked into my rear view mirror to see a large SUV going full speed toward me.  Today, even though my car will probably end up being totaled, I am so thankful that other than some stiffness in my upper body I am fine.  This reminds me of the phrase Maurice Sendak stated in one of his final interviews, Live your life, live your life. I plan on doing so in abundance.  To celebrate I will be giving away five books today.  Have a wonderful restful, relaxing and safe weekend.  Take time for reading.

Let's start off with some decorating fun that readers and book lovers will like.  Check out these 20 Brilliant Bookshelves For Modern Bookworms.  I actually have a couple of these.

Thanks to author Ellen Potter for this tweet.

One of my favorite reads last summer was Chained by Lynne Kelly Hoenig.  Thanks to a recent tweet she tells us there is now a curriculum guide plus a video to go with her book.

Thanks Lynne.

She captured our hearts with Hattie Big Sky and Hattie Ever After.  Now author Kirby Larson has included a playlist of songs Hattie might have listened to during that historic time period.  Head on over to this link to listen.  To the first person who can name one of those songs I will send a copy of both Hattie Big Sky and Hattie Ever After.  Leave your answer in the comments below or via DM on Twitter. (These two titles have been won.)

Many thanks Kirby.
